8th Annual National Collegiate Conference
2003 Java Programming Competition Event

West Lafayette, Indiana
Thursday, March 27 to Saturday, March 29, 2003

The AITP NCC 2003 event is hosted by the Purdue University AITP Student Chapter.

The 2003 conference marks the fourth year for the annual Java programming competition event.

The mission of the AITP® is to offer opportunities for Information Technology (IT) leadership and education through partnerships with industry, government, and academia. AITP provides quality IT related education, information on relevant IT issues, and forums for networking with experienced peers and other IT professionals.

To this end, the AITP NCC Programming Competition Event Staff look to industry for guidance and active leadership in formulating the problem statements, solutions, and with providing judges. The Java Competition Event in particular relies on volunteer enterprise architects and enterprise Java developers experienced with global enterprise projects for each annual competition. Volunteers from academia provide guidance to make sure that the final problem statement can be realistically solved by a student that has completed at least one semester of Java and an introductory database course. Students competing in the Java competition event are also expected to be familiar with basic UML notation.
