Java Integrated Development Environment (Java IDE):

The TextPad IDE will be used for the Java competition event. The choice of a standard contest Java IDE is important since not all schools use the same IDE. While JBuilder is common, it is not the only one used by schools. We have selected TextPad because it is free to download, very easy to learn, has a drop-down menu for compiling Java applications and applets, and uses the standard Java code color scheme. Although TextPad is free, we encourage you to pay the USD $ 27 license fee to get online product support and to support the company that produces TextPad.

You can get more information on TextPad here.
